Maybe We Need this Screen?

We were in the Seattle airport waiting for our plane to Dallas –making some laps around the concourse.  I almost lost Matt when we passed the Kona, Hawaii gate and they were calling for a couple to make the final boarding.  He said, What –didn’t they just call our name?

No, darling.  No.

Anyway, Caleb and I tried to distract him with technology –this booth where you can download a movie rental by wi-fi onto your whatever.  Unfortunately, as Caleb and I were trying to look at this, Matt’s eyes went longingly back to the Kona gate.  Sand… he said.  The poor man.

We looked back at the movie rental screen and it said, “Warning, you have idled.”  It was taking us back to the home screen if we didn’t do something quickly.

screen

I need that!

I need that screen to pop up in front of me all the time, to scream at me that I’m idling.  A “get up off your lazy bum” screen.  A “you could be accomplishing something valuable” screen.

A good woman “watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness”.  (Proverbs 31:27  NIV)

Maybe some kind of warning goes off inside her during the day, to keep her from indulging her own lazy inclinations?  (Or do we all have the warning, but some of us ignore well?)

Let us not reach for the sands of Kona when we have other places we need to go today.
