Where to Hide

She’s a petite little thing, my beautiful girl, and more than anything she hopes never to be noticed by a professor. It’s funny that I’m this loud broadcaster and she’s the quiet, behind-the-scenes type. (I think God made her quiet because he knew I would need someone to absorb all these feelings and words of mine. Doesn’t every talker need a listener?)

There is a place to hide. -christyfitzwater.com

Anyway, I have to pass on this funny story she told us.

It was an 8:00 a.m. class, and her 5’2” frame walked in behind a skyscraper basketball player. She sat down in her seat, and he sat down in front of her and a little to the side.

Then he turned around and said to her, So you can hide behind me, right?

She smiled at him and shook her head, Yes.

Don’t we all feel like this most of the time -small and inadequate? Well, I’m sure you know I do, if you’ve read my blog for more than three days in a row.

We need a buffer against all the hard and overwhelming things that come against us in one single day.

So there’s this verse:

“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.” (Proverbs 18:10 NIV)

God’s character is a 6-feet-something point guard. (Matt, are you totally blown over by my impressive use of basketball lingo?)

So take your seat, you small little girl.

Right behind the big guy.

So, my husband (6’5″, listener extraordinaire) wants to take me (5’4″, Chatty Cathy on steroids) on a trip for our anniversary in May. I wonder what the weather is like in your neck of the woods then because I think my husband to my should take me to visit my long lost twin. lol The more you share your life, the more I feel like I’m reading my stories.
Oh, and maybe we’d bring our daughter who sometimes has to tag-team with my husband when his ears begin to melt. 🙂

    1. The weather in May is snowy-sunny-rainy-cold-hot (that could be in a 10-minute time span). It can be nice then, but it might not be. How’s that for an answer? But come on up! You can use some of your words on me. 🙂 It would definitely be fun to meet you in real life!
