Do You Believe God Can Do Anything?

Do you believe God can do anything? -christyfitzwater.comI have a guest writer today. Erin is a good friend of mine and is soon to be a cousin-in-law to my daughter. God has been completely transforming Erin over the last few years, and it has been thrilling to watch. She recently told me a story that touched me so much I asked her if she would come on over to my blog and share it with all of you. Enjoy!

In October, because of God’s provision and the generosity of a dear friend and some sweet women at church, I had the opportunity to go to Women of Faith in Portland, Oregon, the theme of which was “Believe God Can Do Anything.”

I KNEW God could do anything, but did I actually believe it?

The first night far exceeded all of my expectations. At one point, we were all standing, worshiping Jesus along with Kari Jobe, when Lisa Harper (if you have not heard of her, look her up. She is incredible) walked onto the stage and began to pray for all of the women in the Moda Center. Lisa asked for any of the women who were feeling broken to be seated.

I felt my knees bend as I sat without my consent.

To my right, I saw my good friend sitting as well. We wrapped our arms around each other and sobbed.

What Lisa said next was beautiful:

To those of you who are standing, it is only by God’s amazing grace that you are not sitting. If you are able to stand, it’s because you have been through hell and God has brought you out of it stronger than you were before. I want you to look at the women who are feeling broken, and when you think of them, pray for them.

Suddenly I felt hands touch my back as a woman behind me began to pray for my friend and me. Just thinking about that moment brings back the lump in my throat.

What a great reminder to you women who are standing. God has healed you and brought you out of a time of deep despair. What a beautiful picture to those of us sitting. GOD CAN DO ANYTHING.

He will heal us.

Do you ever feel like there is no hope? Like God just doesn’t care? Find your hope in Isaiah 41:10:

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

BELIEVE God can do anything, and He will. If you are broken, know I am praying for you. Know God loves you and will put the broken pieces back together to make you stronger than before.
