The menfolk at my house are curious, which explains why my Kindle opens to a fly tying video.
It also explains why we spent one entire evening watching YouTube videos on circular breathing. Did you know this is how a person places the didgeridoo? This video amused the whole family, so I highly recommend it. We spent another evening watching a tutorial on throat singing. Watch this with your kids -it’s like a strange and fascinating field trip.
I imagine this information makes you either really glad or a little sad that you don’t live at my house.
We want to know how to do things. When I was learning how to blog, I discovered that blogs promising a how-to list grab attention better than anything.
You know what makes me super cranky –when I read something in the Bible that I’m supposed to do, but I can’t figure out how to do it.
This happened recently, as I realized I should have a healthier self-esteem, but I COULD NOT FIGURE OUT HOW. So I badgered God absolutely to death (He likes that, by the way), and He taught me about self-esteem. He said, Okay, you wanna know? You really wanna know? Because soon after my request was made it was like a level V storm of information coming at me, faster than I could put into practice.
When God gives us commands, He actually wants us to be able to do them, so today I want to encourage you to take the HOW question to God.
Because YouTube did not invent tutorials.
“Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.” (Psalm 25:5 NIV)
(For your anticipation, tomorrow I am going to be giving you a list: “One Easy Step for How to Do Anything”. Oh yeah.)
