I haven’t written you a personal little note for ever so long. How is your summer?
I’ll admit to you that I’ve been waking up often this summer and thinking about all the things I should do –then crawling back under a quilt and going back to sleep until a ridiculously late time. But I think I’ve needed the rest after a crazy year. That’s what I’m telling myself.
Here’s a picture of me with my mom, aunt, and cousin during my Wyoming visit. Why do all these people I love have to live so far away?
A few days ago I went to the school to do a little Spanish classroom stuff. I was preparing to paint one of the walls in my classroom with chalkboard paint, but when I got there it was already done! The maintenance man (bless him) had some of the parent volunteers do it for me. What a fun surprise!
This last week I spent several hours one day, with virtual scissors and paste, re-working my About Me page. Wanna see it? There are some wedding pictures on there now, if you’ve followed that story.
I also re-worked the beginning section about why I write.
One thing I have changed, which I’m sure you’ve noticed, is the frequency of my writing. I’ve written five days a week for over two years –almost 700 blog posts!
And I’m pooped. (Not sure if a pastor’s wife should say that, but there ya go.)
A wise writer friend, Lisa, (check out her rich site where I do some guest blogging at Club31Women.com) suggested I write two or three days a week. As usual, I did my normal strong-willed child No! But now I’m thinkin’ she’s a pretty smart lady. Thanks for the advice, Lisa!
So writing a little less and maybe I’ll stay a little fresher, eh? (Anything you need to cut back on that might allow you to bring a higher quality to everything else you’re doing?)
Now back to summer. You should know that I am a lemonade snob. You wouldn’t try to get me to drink anything besides fresh-squeezed would you? And I have not had one glass of fresh lemonade yet this summer, so that’s on my list to accomplish before school starts in August.
Aaaaaaggggh. School! Did I say that out loud?
Well, on my to-do list for the week was to get our little aluminum boat registered and a tire fixed. This for a family reunion that begins today out at a camp. During the reunion week I will be taking my last blogging break for a while. I’ll be back in August!
May the Lord bless you and keep you!
